Programs & Vision

Building Homes for Artistic Growth

Robin’s Nest Foundation exists to reduce housing barriers for dancers and performing artists in San Diego. We believe that talented artists should be able to pursue their craft without being pushed out by the rising cost of living.

Our work combines immediate support with long-term solutions, creating pathways for artists to find stability, community, and opportunity.

Current Programs

Epsilon House

Epsilon House is Robin’s Nest Foundation’s first artist housing initiative.

Located in San Diego, Epsilon House provides below-market housing opportunities for dancers and trainees pursuing professional careers in the performing arts.

The program reduces living costs, creates a supportive artistic community, and allows residents to focus more fully on training, performance, and professional development.

By bridging the gap between affordability and opportunity, Epsilon House serves as a model for future artist housing projects.

Housing Assistance & Scholarships

Not every artist benefits from communal housing.

Robin’s Nest is developing housing assistance and scholarship programs designed to support dancers living throughout San Diego County.

These programs will help artists offset housing costs, remain connected to local dance institutions, and continue pursuing professional careers without being forced to leave the region due to financial pressure.

Building for the Future

The Housing Stability Fund

Robin’s Nest is working toward establishing a long-term Housing Stability Fund.

Our goal is to build a permanent reserve of charitable capital that can support:

  • Housing scholarships
  • Emergency assistance grants
  • New artist housing initiatives
  • Future property acquisition opportunities

Funds will be managed responsibly with the objective of creating lasting support for generations of artists.

Current Goal: $50,000

The Housing Stability Fund will serve as the foundation for future growth and sustainability.

Artist Housing Development Initiative

San Diego is home to a vibrant artistic community, yet affordable housing options remain limited.

Robin’s Nest envisions a future in which artists, supporters, and community partners work together to create dedicated housing opportunities near the places where art is made.

Potential focus areas include communities connected to San Diego’s performing arts ecosystem, including Point Loma, Pacific Beach, and other neighborhoods where dancers live, train, and perform.

Through partnerships, community investment, and innovative ownership models, Robin’s Nest aims to expand access to affordable artist housing throughout the region.

Our Long-Term Vision

We imagine a San Diego where talented artists are not forced to choose between pursuing their careers and affording a place to live.

We envision a network of artist housing opportunities, scholarship programs, and community partnerships that make it possible for dancers to build sustainable careers while contributing to the cultural life of our city.

Every dancer deserves more than survival.

They deserve a home from which they can grow.
